Appointments are available between the hours of 1 PM and 4 PM, every day, except Wednesday. Please call us at 352-796-2711 to schedule. Walk-ins are welcome between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM, every day, except Wednesday.
To meet a pet that currently resides in a foster home, please call us at 352-796-2711 for an appointment. We will need time to contact the Foster Parent so that we can schedule a time for the pet to be brought to the shelter. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for a return phone call after expressing interest.
Pet Surrender
Our goal is to assist as many animals as possible. Please keep in mind however that we are a limited intake shelter. We have a limited number of kennels/rooms and we do not put a time limit on how long a pet may reside with us. As pets are adopted and space becomes available, we will bring another animal in.
If you have need to re-home your pet please call us at 352-796-2711 to submit an application verbally.
You will be contacted via email or phone when we have an opening. At this time an appointment will be scheduled to bring your pet in for an evaluation to determine if we are a good fit for your pets’ specific needs.

Veterinary Services
We do not currently offer veterinary services as we do not have a full-time veterinarian on staff. However, we are happy to provide some local options. Please click here for these resources.
Pet Pantry
For Hernando County citizens who are struggling to feed their pets, we offer free cat & dog food at our shelter. Supplies are limited so food assistance is on a first come first serve basis. The Little Pet Pantry is located just outside of our main gate on the Mobley Road side of the property. Should you find the Pantry empty and it is during business hours, please come inside to see if we have additional supplies.
For those who are able and would like to help, please consider donating a bag (any brand or flavor) of dog or cat food. Thank you!
